Freshers' welcome in 2013 of Monnekulama Maha Vidyalaya was held in 18th January 2013 at school premises. The admitting kids for the grade 1 and new student for grade 6 after grade 5 scholarship examination were welcomed warmly. The students with the school western music band were welcomed warmly by the grade 2 and grade 7 offering a bouquet of flowers.
The chief guest was the Mr N.P.T. Pathirana - vice president in Nikaweratiya Pradesiya Sabhawa and Mr. Lenard Dasanayeke participated to the ceremony participating Zonal Educational Office Nikaweratiya. Apart from the Principal and the staff of Monnekulama Maha Vidyalaya and parents of the students gathered for this welcome. Several dancing items and student presentations were staged by the school music and dancing sections.
